The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English Language Proficiency Test, mandatory for non-native studies for studying in nations where the mode and medium of instruction is English. Many Universities in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada accept the IELTS. It is a prerequisite for students desirous of studying in Australia - an Australian Student Visa, granted without an IELTS Score is unheard of. All other Universities require students to either take the TOEFL or IELTS.

Highest possible band score is 9.0, Most universities accept a score of 5.5-6.0 for undergrad admission and 6.0-7.0 for graduate admission. In case of low band score, students may have to take English language courses. There are two versions of the IELTS test.

IELTS is jointly managed by: University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council, and IDP: IELTS Australia
Academic Module
IELTS Academic module test assesses whether you have adequate English Language proficiency to take a degree course or professional training. Students seeking entry to a university or an institution of higher education need to take Academic Module, test assesses your ability to read, write, listen and speak in an academic context.
General Training Module
General Training module is designed for students seeking entry to a secondary school or to short course/vocational training courses or for individuals seeking immigration.

The two versions do not carry the same weight and are not interchangeable. All candidates are tested on reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Whereas the speaking and listening sections are common for the Academic and General versions of the test, the Reading and Writing sections are different.
Sections in the IELTS
There are 4 modules in the IELTS test: Reading Comprehension, Listening, Writing, & Speaking (Personal Interview).

IELTS Registration:
You can take test round the year at British council and Victoria University (Melbourne) centers in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet. Registration fee is Taka &900.
foreign university admission candidates are advised to plan and take IELTS test well ahead of admission deadline. Registration fee is Taka 6900.

Remarks
The Schedule of this module will be different from the IELTS Schedule. Students will be assigned a fixed timing for doing this module. A Student can do this module only with his/her assigned batch. Speaking module cannot be repeated.
ASSESSMENT TEST
Students can redo any of the above modules if they find their scores not satisfactory in this test.

Review Session
If anyone feels the need for a foundation course (basic grammar, speaking & writing),he/she can attend our foundation classes for a fee of tk.1000 only.
